Mrs. Becky Terry is in her seventh year at Northview Academy, and her eighteenth year of teaching. Mrs. Terry is native of Sevier County, graduating from Seymour High School in 1995. Mrs. Terry then went on to East Tennessee State University where she received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Instrumental Music Education in 2000. She recently graduated with her Master’s of Music Education degree from the University of Florida. Mrs. Terry’s main instrument is Clarinet, but she also enjoys playing bass clarinet and saxophone. Mrs. Terry currently resides in Sevierville with her husband, Anthony and their 10-year-old daughter, Abby.
Mr. Taylor L. Franklin is in his fifth year as Assistant Director of Bands at Northview Academy. Mr. Franklin has graduated from Carter High School where he received The Director’s Award for Band, from The University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, where he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumental Music Education, and from Carson-Newman University where he holds a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction. Mr. Franklin has completed post-graduate/ doctoral work at Arizona State University and is currently working on a Doctorate of Educational Leadership & Administration.
Mr. Franklin’s primary instrument is trumpet. While at UTC, he was the principal trumpeter of the instrumental ensembles and the Cadek Community Orchestra. Mr. Franklin was elected President of Chattanooga Men of Note before receiving the SGA Outstanding Senior Award and being named the Outstanding Instrumental Music Education Major of the Year in 2014-2015. While in college, he marched and later served on staff for the UTC Marching Mocs. Mr. Franklin currently resides in Sevierville with his wife, Megan, and his two daughters, Ryleigh and Kennedy.
